Toscana – oh the potential! 100% sangiovese. Deep mixed red fruit aromas that develop into dried cherry after a couple hours in the decanter. Nose also of tobacco and liquorice. A warm, structured body with very tight (but not unpleasant tannins) that were softened by a 1.3kg fiorentina. Scoring this a 4.5* because it has the potential to grow into a bomb but right now it’s too tight and closed and drinking like a 4. Buy and hold for at least 5 years.
